I created the edit form from sharepoint list.I want to sum all these boxes and put the result to the "Total" field in sharepoint and also show on the apps after the user fills the number.

Spoiler (Highlight to read)
The "Total" column's data type is a number not the calculated type.
The "Total" column's data type is a number not the calculated type.

This is the formula that I use and apply on the 'Text' property, which doesn't work. Do I need to calculate it on sharepoint instead?

but I have tried the data card of Total field become text and it still not show the result.

Sum(
 ThisItem.'box1',
 ThisItem.'box2',
 ThisItem.'box3',
 ThisItem.'box4'
 )

    You'll want something like:

    Sum(Value(DataCardValue1.Text), Value(DataCardValue2.Text), Value(DataCardValue3.Text))

    Select the data card for each of the elements you want to sum, then select the actual input field, to get the name of that specific data card's value and use that in your formula

    Hey

    You are trying to Sum text

    Write

    Sum( Value(ThisItem.'box 1'),

    Value(ThisItem.'box 2'),

    Value(ThisItem.'box 3'),

    Value(ThisItem.'box 4')

    )

    Hi @mmchx '

    I agree with others you are trying to sum text value which results in error. Adding value to the Text column will convert it into value if you have numbers in it.

    If you are adding always numbers in that field I would suggest to change the type of the field to number as shown below.  If it is changed you will be able to use the sum formula directly.

    With Text format

    Sum(

    Value(ThisItem.'box 1'),

    Value(ThisItem.'box 2'),

    Value(ThisItem.'box 3'),

    Value(ThisItem.'box 4')

    )

    With Number format

    Sum(

    (ThisItem.'box 1'),

    (ThisItem.'box 2'),

    (ThisItem.'box 3'),

    (ThisItem.'box 4')

    )

    I see! but it still doesn't update after I fill the number on box1 or box2. Do I need to create some collection here?
    or variable for box1?
