What causes an extra Default Studio Template to be created?

Does anyone know what would cause a second Default Studio Template to be created automatically?

I've had this happen twice recently where I'm making various changes to the site, but not messing with page templates or web templates and out of the blue a second set of default things will be created. I end up with an extra Default Studio Template page template and web template and an extra Default navigation link set. And, I can't delete any of them because they are already in use somehow.

that seems to be a bug.

Is it always happening?

In that case please raise a ticket so Microsoft can start fixing it.

I had the same exp and found out it was related to "Dynamics 365 app" Power Pages Starter Layout XX. Most likely Power Pages Starter Layout XX got installed or (auto) updated in the Power Platform admin center.

I am not sure what is causing the duplicate. But you can try deleting the web link set and see if that helps

Thanks for that info. It helps but I'm more concerned about preventing random stuff from getting creating than figuring out how to delete or deactivate it.

Part of my frustration is that there's an overwhelmingly large number of assets that get created during the process of standing up a Power Pages site. It's already confusing enough trying to weed through the mountains of assets to figure out which are important, and which are not. And, to figure out what asset/component is being used where.

Then, when I just about get things figured out and all of a sudden a new set of default stuff gets created, it sorta feels like the software platform is not just confusing, but bug ridden as well.

At my work we are close to mastering Power Pages. The required hands on experience and theory are underestimated. That has nothing to do with a big ridden software platform.
