How to display the previous month in powerapps

I need some help with trying to display the previous month in an input text value. I know the current month is Text(Today(),"mmm") but how do I get the previous month?

You can use the DateAdd function with negative values:

Text(DateAdd(Today(),-1,TimeUnit.Months),"mmm")

How would I convert this result to a number to store in a variable?

I was using
Month(Now())
to get the number of the month, but need to subtract 1 month from the result.
