I have a flow that runs every 15 minutes to check certain conditions and if the conditions result in true, then it starts and waits for an admin approval. The problem that I'm running into is since this is on a recurring schedule, if there is no action taken on the approval request for the user (requestor) it keeps creating new approval requests for the same user. Is there a way to check if an approval record already exists for the requestor and skip creating a new one if true? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @RADical ,

Could you please tell me if you want to not repeat an approval after it exists?
1.I suggest you use SharePoint to create a list to save your approval records.
2.Before creating an approval, add a condition to judge whether there is an approval record in the SharePoint list. If the list is empty, create an approval and add an approval record to the SharePoint.

Hi @v-liwei-msft,

Thank you for looking into the issue and providing the above suggestion. I thought about that approach as well, but didn't want to use that approach because I would need to run automation on removing the user from the list at the end of flow if the request was processed (approved). I also didn't want to overcomplicate it by tying in SharePoint.

I was wondering if there is a check I can do on the "Requested by" parameter in Action items > Approvals to see if there is already a request from the same user.

I'm having a similar issue to the OP and I think this maybe the solution I'm looking for. By any chance do you have a screenshot of the approval flow and the list as I can't visualise it from the description.
