Last Submitted ID disappears

I'm trying to pick up the ID of last submitted item to use in an email, but I'm obviously doing something that is making it disappear !

I have a label set to [Form1.Lastsubmit.ID] to test and I can see the ID appear and it is correct but as soon as the next step in the process after submit happens, (a dialogue box made from a rectangle) the ID disappears. Here's the code for the on submit of the form so something about this must be causing the issue.

SubmitForm(Form1);Set(VarCurrentStep,3)

VarCurrentStep is just a progress bar indicator.

Any ideas what's causing it?

The issue was that I didn't understand fully what last submit could do
