Give certain permissions to created folders from any user

Hello awesome community,

I have the following case: If any user inside an Document Library creates an specific folder (lets say "sales") for this folder the current permissions are removed and new permissions are assign (Group). So just for this specific folder and every time a folder named sales is created.

You can assign permission to a SharePoint group via a SharePoint HTTP action - here is a link for instructions.

You'll need some logic in your Flow - check the Is folder property for true and then check the name.

@ScottShearer Thank you very much for that link! There it says in the first step: "This action removes all kinds of permissions for an item for which you specify the ID."

Since a user is creating the folder "sales" in a Document Library I do not have an ID yet. So what do I have to do before that step ?

Does anybody has an idea about the first step? So the Flow should be

--> Any user creates a specific Folder like "sales"
--> The Flow takes all permissions
--> The Flow gives new permissions

How do I create the flow so that the flow recognizes that a folder "sales" has been created and the flow must now change the permissions here?

Use the When a file is created (properties only) trigger - the ID will be available via dynamic properties. This is the only ID that you'll need as you are setting folder permissions.

Then use a condition and check the Is folder property for true.

You need not remove all permissions unless you want to. If you do choose to remove permissions, make sure that the account you are using is a site owner or SCA.
