Lag time problems with PowerApp

Hello everybody,

we have speed problems with a Powerapp, which uses several sharepoint lists as datasource.

Many times points are moving for 3 or more seconds at the top of the screen, we have a lag time, writing into fields at this time is very slow and sometimes it will be overwritten by an empty field.

These problems are most on blackview android tabs with mediatek cpu, but sometimes (not allways) on fast windows computers as well!

How can I optimize this?

Hi @Phil_NPO ,

3 seconds of "dots" is actually quite good - the app is accessing a remote data source at times with queries returning a lot of data and (as you have mentioned) over a mobile network.

All you can do really is try to limit the size of the returned or written data.

thanks for replying. Well, sometime there is no chance to use this app, because from field to field it takes seconds, sometimes parts of written text in the past field is lost, sometimes written text is deleted completely. Mobile connection is 4G or 5G, but these problems are on WLAN with 100k internet connection as well.

So the complete process to add just one item to sharepoint list can take from 1 to 20 minutes, depending on lag time.

Saving to sharepoint list will start by clicking on submit, not after changing content on each field.

Hi @Phil_NPO ,

That is another matter and obviously not 3 seconds . . .

It is very hard to diagnose anything from the limited information other than to say this is quite unusual and not something I have experienced in a couple of hundred apps on SharePoint, some connected to up to 40 lists.

Open a Monitor session and see what elements are being executed on each action.
