In a previous post by BOONYAR (answered by staff member RGRUIAN) the following was shown ... my problem is described below.

     1. Table 1{ID, Name, Date, Ticket Details}
     2. Table 2 {ID, Name, Region}
     gallery1.Items = AddColumns(Table1, "Region", LookUp(Table2, Name = Table1[@Name], Region))

I have two Azure tables (galleries) BASE.PARTIES and PARTYIDGROUPLINK as follows:

     PARTIES has columns PartyID, SortName

     PARTYIDGROUPLINK has columns PartyID, GroupName

I'm try to add the GroupName from PARTYIDGROUPLINK to the first gallery based on a match ('join') on PartyID using ...

GroupsGallery.Items = AddColumns ( [BASE].[PARTIES], "GroupName", LookUp([BASE].[PARTYGROUPIDLINK], PartyID = '[BASE].[PARTIES]'[@PartyID], GroupName) )  yields invalid argument type and I can't seem to figure out the issue.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi LJMiller,

    May I know the exact name of your 2 tables?  [BASE].[PARTIES] and [BASE].[PARTYGROUPIDLINK]? It would be better if you could upload some screenshots here for better understanding. I'm trying to reproduce your issue.

    Regards,

    Hi

    AddColumns( Table, "ColumnName1", Formula1 [, ColumnName2, Formula2, ... ] )

    - This is a New column to be added based on Formula1 and will not change to the base datasource.

    What I have seen is that you are using the "GroupName" which is already part of the table.

    I have just provide a clues to at:

    Looks like you may resort to ADD this GroupName using LookUp in your Gallery.

    For my understanding, you are also referring to the same scenario.

    Hope it helps.
