People Picker, Multi-Select Expecting Record Value

Alright, I'm stuck on this one, maybe its the late Friday brain? Hoping that the community can assist.

 

I have a People Picker on a canvas app within a form. It is tied to a SharePoint list column.

 

The forms people picker was functioning great. Then I had the requirement to allow multiple selections. So I changed the SP Column to allow for that. Now the form people picker is erroring out with "Expecting a Record Value"

 

Does anyone know what I need to do to get this working?

    Hi @ezjensen ,

    The easiest way is to delete the card and re-install it with "Add Field" and let Power Apps set the Update of the card automatically.

    The problem you have is that a different data type (table) is now being written to the updated field.

    BTW I am wondering where it is late Friday right now (7:25am in eastern Oz)

    I tried that already, and once the new card was loaded it immediately threw the same error.

    Hi @ezjensen ,

    I just loaded exactly the same SharePoint field into a new card as below and it works fine. Can you have a look what settings in yours are different.

    @WarrenBelz  thank you for the follow-up.  I verified that all my settings were the same as your test, and they are.not sure what is going on.  

     

    I think that I may end up deleting the control and the SP column and recreating them to see if that is any different?  That will be on the To-Do for tomorrow.

     

    I had plenty to work on today as I just ran into the SP Lookup column limit of 12, which I have not run into before. So I am currently converting some columns to collections and choice columns.

    I think that might be the right path as I cannot re-create your error and therefore have no direction to take to try to fix it.

    Well @WarrenBelz , I Deleted the SP Column for the Stakeholders and removed all fields from the app. Saved, published and closed everything. I went back to SP, recreated the Stakeholders column, then back into the app, and re-added the Datacard.

     

    IT's WORKING!!!!  YAY.

     

    No idea what happened, so weird.  I've never run into this before.

    This just happened to me - when I converted a user field to support multiple choice - it broke all the forms, and deleting the card and adding it again did not fix it.

    I am not sure how to proceed except deleting the field and recreating it as mentioned. Seems to be a nasty MS bug.
