Value to check in flow doesn't match value in data source

I'm building a flow that checks whenever a new row is created for a particular item, it should check if the status is in error "2".
If so, send email to users to notify and if not, do nothing.
I noticed that the job failed but received no email from the flow and upon investigating why this is the case I saw that the value that was returned for the status = 1.
How does this happen as I confirmed that the value is definitely 2 in the data source.

Value based on the flow:

This is how the flow checks for the status:

    Did you say the flow is triggered by the creation of the row?  This is just a suggestion but maybe the Status + Error message is updated shortly after creation, so your flow doesn't get triggered when the row is modified to be in Status = 2.

    You could possibly replace your trigger with one for when a row is modified, and move the logic from your condition to the trigger's filter property, so you filter it to only trigger on rows where Status eq 2 or some such.

    It looks like you are comparing a string to an integer. Take a look at the example below. In the first example—I'm comparing the value in the first Compose action. It's a string.
    When you view the output you can see the string number is black. The integer number is green (might be hard to see in the screenshot). A green value indicates an integer.

    The condition outputs as false because the string (2) doesn't equal the integer (2).

    In this example, I've inserted the output from the Compose action with the integer value.

    The condition returns as true because they do match. It's important to note that the is equal to operator looks for an exact match. This means the values you are comparing must also match in type.

    In your case, you'll need to use an expression and wrap your dynamic content in an int() function. Alternatively, you can wrap the 2 in the second value field of the condition in a string() function.

    @Mark Nanneman

    That's exactly what happened.
    When the item is created the status is = 1. Then a modification is done that changes the status to 2 but the flow's trigger is set only check when a item is created.
    I've update the flow to check for when an item is modified.

    Thanks a lot.
