Hi All

I have a question.

I created an App that allows reps to request assistance, however, I need to go in and assign these requests as they come in, and if I am not present there is a chance that they can go unattended. Is there a way that PowerAutomate can assign the tasks as they come in, to an Associate on my team? either random or in order?

I really appreciate the help.

Yes to both of your questions. Do you have a list of individuals to whom the tasks should be assigned? If so, where are they stored?

Yes, I have a list of 4 Associates and because of the way the App has been created, the list with their name is in excel saved in OneDrive, which when selected their name on the APP, feeds the info into a list in share point. if that makes any sense also the APP was created in PowerApps

You might try this:

Add a column to the Excel table and number the users 1 through 4

Use the rand() expression and set the bottom number 1 and the top to 4

Use the output of the rand() expression to select an associate (let me know if you need help with this)

Otherwise, you might do something like this:

Create a SharePoint list and add a number column

When a task is to be assigned, check the list for the number of the last person tasked

Increment the number by one (or back to 1 if the last selected was 4)

Lookup the associate

What I have suggested is pretty simplistic but it will work.

How to make the second sugestion with Sharepoint list?

I created a list in Sharepoint according to the following example. Users marked as "Unavailable" should not be assigned...

I tried to follow the logic presented here in this topic, but without much success: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Flows/Assign-planner-tasks-between-a-pool-of-people-automatically/m-p/326941/highlight/true#M35252

My flow ignores the unavailable ones (red), marking them as available. I could even remove these users from the list, but I didn't want to do that.
