How to remove a default box on power automate flow

Hi folks!

I have created a form in Microsoft flows and I am creating an approvals process once the form is submitted which has multiple approvers, depending on what department was selected on the form i.e. Finance will go to the finance manager for approval, Supply Chain will go to Supply chain manager etc etc.

This is something I have some many times and never had any issues.

Now there is a white 'default' box in the flow that was added automatically at the start of creating the flow, and now my flow is going straight to the default box rather than the approvals route it is meant to go. One department works fine and goes through the flow all okay, the other department (built exactly the same as the successfully run department) for some reason heads down the default route, causing the flow to come to a dead end.

Any ideas on how to get rid of this box? I can't right click on it (see image attached)

Thanks for your help 🙂

Getting rid of the Default section is not possible and should not be required.

It has been provided to handle exceptions.

You need to check why is the switch not following the branch that it should.

Probably a leading or trailing space? Upper/Lower Casing?

Are you able to investigate the flow run and see that the Switch branch has the exact value?

A screenshot of the flow run would help!

    Hi @SudeepGhatakNZ

    Thanks for your prompt reply!

The plot thickens, it seems to be working for all other departments but one, not doing anything different, all spelling and casings are correct and match. I have tried deleting that thread and re-building and the same issue which is interesting. All others are working perfectly.

I have attached another screen shot if this helps. I may keep going with all the other departments for now and play around with this one at the end.

Hi @SudeepGhatakNZ - thanks for this spot!

I had copied the wording and spacing directly from the Microsoft form by copy and paste method, assuming that even with the space aslong as the form matches the flow it will work.

I have now removed that spacing from the form and also from the flow and can confirm it is now working 🙂

Thanks so much for your assistance!

    Lou
