Flexible height for a form based on datacards' auto height

Hi All,

Background: In a scrollable screen, added an EditForm into the first Canvas DataCard, added icons to the second and third DataCards which are static. Don't want to show the EditForm's scrollbar, only show the scrollbar from the Canvas. Both the EditForm and the DataCard need to adjust their heights based on the content displayed in the form.

Issue: Tried to set the height of the form equals to the total heights of the contents in the form, including auto heights from text boxes. Theroically thought it would work but it didn't. When loading the page, the form height seems to memerize a number from previous load and doesn't change based on current form content. Any ideas? Thanks!

Thanks! After clearing cache and switch to IE to run the app (I use Chrome to edit the app), the form is working as designed. The height is automatically adjusted based on the height of the current record's content. I will test it on phone devices and reply back on my results shortly. Thank you very much for your help!!!

Yes!! you need to publish the app, clear the browser cache and play the app not in in the edit mode.

    Hi KranthiTupakula,

I just tried Flexible height gallery. It has the same issue as the form. The height of the Gallery doesn't adjust to the current item's height but remains the height as previous load. Is there a delay in auto adjusting?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

No, I haven't tried Flexible Height gallery. Do you think Form cannot work in this situation? Ideally I prefer a form in this screen as I have many other fields need to display in the form.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Have you tried to do that with Flexible height gallery?

    Hi KranthiTupakula,

Thanks for your quick reply. Please see the screenshot.

It's a scrollable screen with one canvas. The canvas contains multiple cards. The first card contains a form. (Athoulgh the card displays as the last one from the left panel but it is the first one on the canvas.) The form contains multiple datacards, the last few of which ("comments") are html text boxes and are set true in autoheight property.

The form height is set to 980 right now. I want it to be dynamic to capture the comments heights. So in the entire screen, I only need to scroll the canvas scrollbar. For my users, the form is just like other canvas cards, no seperate scrolling required.

    Hope it makes sense. Thanks!
