If one SharePoint item is updated 2x in a short period of time - Power automate runs only 1 time

Hi,

I am using power automate with trigger: when item is created or modified and what I have noticed is that if I create an item and immediately update it after a few seconds after creation or if I update 1 item 2 times with a few seconds in between

---> Then power automate flog gets triggered only 1 time instead of expected 2 times...

Is this a bug? or is there any settings to avoid that?

- Asking as my flow is checking if a certain attribute changed with the update and in case users do a 2nd update to the same record only that update will be taken as the version history inside the flow which is causing me a lot of issues...

- Also a second example is where I have a flow configured for a history log and if record gets created and then updated, since flow runs only 1 time I am getting in my log only the info that record was updated and not that it was created..

Any support would be greatly appreciated.

Usually when I create an item in a list, if I need to use that item immeditely afterwards - perhaps to get the ID - then I add a delay action and set it to 10 seconds (but set it to whatever works for you). The actions in a flow can run so quickly that slowing them down sometimes helps.

@RobElliott Thank you very much for your reply.

I have tried inserting a Delay action after the trigger (when item ic created or modified) but that doesnt solve my issue unfortunatelly.

-> still only 1 flow instance gets triggered instead of 2 instances that I would expect considering that I have updated the same record 2 times

Updating an item more than once within 60 seconds can cause this issue.

Isnt there any workaround that power automate would really trigger for each update? As sometimes users after entering the record see an error which they quickly correct but then this can mess up the flow quite a bit...
