Adding multiple comments to a field

Still struggling with the adding multiple notes to a customer.

I have two Sharepoint lists:

1. Contacts

2. Notes (has a LookUp field on the Organziation, which is Value stored in Contacts list)

I want a user to be able to see past comments based on the Organization (Organization is in the list Contacts.) The user can then add a new note in the Notes list based on the Organization. I've attached a scenario graphic that will provide more information.

Thanks so much! I'm new to PowerApps. 🙂

    Hi @ttaylor

Add 2 labels to the screen (for testing purpose) and set its text value to

    label 1 - OrgDropdown.SelectedText.Value

    label 2 - GalleryContacts.Selected.OrganizationID

Check the result returned and see it these values match any of the values in your OrganizationID column in Notes list

    Regards,

    Reza Dorrani

The labels are returning result names from the dropdown box. I think I'm really confused. How does this tie to the Notes gallery?

Re: Adding multiple comments to a field

If I go into Sharelist, I can add a new note in the Notes list and choose the Organization (lookup value) and it adds the information just fine. How do I that same thing through a powerapp?

This works to display the noted I added directly in the Sharepoint list (not through the app)

    Filter(Notes,OrgDropDown_3.SelectedText.Value=Organization.Value)

And it returns the value I want. Now how can I add a new note to this?

    Hi @ttaylor

Filter(Notes,OrgDropDown_3.SelectedText.Value=Organization.Value) - will show you all the related notes

To add a new Note - you would need to use a Form control or use Patch function

    @ttaylor

But I do not see the error message in your screenshot

If you hover on the error mark - it will show you the message

    Oops...sorry about that!

    The error is:

"The function Choices has some invalid arguments

    DatacardValue38.SearchItems"
