Copy a solution to the same environment

I have a solution which is being used on one project and three environments - DEV, TEST, PROD.

I want to use the same solution for another project. I will make some changes to the canvas app with the project name, data etc and to one of the flows. The data source is SharePoint.

What is the best way of making a copy of the solution within the dev environment?

I have tried exporting and importing it in, but it sees it as an update rather than a new solution.

Create a new solution (Project 2) in the DEV environment.

Copy the Canvas App from the existing solution.

Add the copy canvas App to the new solution (Project 2).

You can rename the Canvas app in the new (Project 2) solution.

Remember, your new solution will depend on the old solution components, depending on which components your canvas app is using in the old solution.

Thanks @Velegandla - that makes sense. What if I then updated the original app and wanted to copy those changes to my other app? What would be the best way to do that?

Plan from the beginning see the reusable sections and make them into components.

Use those components for both canvas Apps.

If you can't make it as reusable components, you have to make changes in both places.
