Changing text in flow

New to flow so not sure of all functions and need some help.

I have a flow which is initiated by an email arriving into a shared mailbox. The body of the email contains only 1 item of text (I have a step where it converts it from html to text).

This text is limited to only 15 options (EP01-EP05, EA01-EA05, EL01-EL05).

My next part of my flow is to create a task in planner based off the text that is input. I will use a switch to create this as it will be 3 different tasks. I really don't want to make 15 different switch conditions so looking for a way to convert the text from EP01 to just EP, for example, easily so I don't have to make 15 different switch options????

Hello @tlw1779 ,

you can use the following expression in a "Compose" action:

if(contains(outputs('Compose'),'EP'), 'EP', if(contains(outputs('Compose'),'EA'), 'EA',if(contains(outputs('Compose'),'EL'),'EL','')))

Thank you so much. I knew it would be something simple but I don't have enough experience yet. I really appreciate the quick response.
