Approval flow when person type field is blank for delegate person type field in Sharepoint list record

I'm creating a approval workflow when an item is created or modified in canvas app using Sharepoint as data source,
there are two person type field , one is the main approver and other field is delegate to (not compulsory field, this is filled when the main approver field is empty), so when ever user fills all required fields and submit the form (many times delegate person type field remains empty/blank)
I'm using http get request action in order to get the approver ID with formula as _api/web/SiteUsers/getByEmail('abc@xyz.com')
and assigning it to a variable , this variable is using to assign access/right over that record using http post request : _api/lists/getByID('3452435234')/items()/roleassignments/addroleassignment(principalid=variable,roledefid=1073741827).
So my flow breaks whenever delegate person type field is blank /empty.
What can be the solution to this approval flow , any help will be highly appreciated .

I hope you get where I am comming from on this.

Main approver can be either filled or not filled
Delegated approver can be either filled or not filled

As a sugestion I would suggest the main approve filed needs to contain data in at all times. I.e. it cannot be blank as the approval process needs the main approver fieild to drive it.

I am no Canvas app expert I only deal with Sharepoint and the like so I hope what I have suggested will work for you on the Canvas app side of thing and linking the data.

Its either or , but the problem is in the flow , lets assume one of the field is empty how can my flow avoid/skip to get ID value from http get request , because it breaks the flow since anyone of the field is blank

The subject of your post mentions an approval process, the contents of you question relates to appoval so I cannot understand why we are not dealing with that. I do not understand why an approval field be that main or delegated is or can be blank in one or both cases for the process to start and for you to get the ID value you need.

Perhaps you could share your flow, so we can see the whole thing, if not then I am going to have to bow out on this.

N worries , I just added If else conditional check to my flow and it solved my problem
