App on Start Set

Hello,

If I have Set a formula in the On Start app event like this:

Set(startingIdNumber, 10056);
Set(currentIdNumber, First(Sort(Tbl_MC, Title, Descending)).Title);
Set(nextIdNumber, If(IsBlank(currentIdNumber), startingIdNumber, currentIdNumber + 1))

Two questions:

1. How can I call that function to "Refresh" after I press my submit button to patch my SPL.

2. If I need to add another formula to my "Run on Start is just adding a ";" then the new formula?

Thanks in advance

    You can keep adding to what happens at startup by adding a semicolon(;) and entering another set statement, etc..

    After submitting, you'll want to use additional set statements to change the values of the variables you set at startup.  Once again, you can do so by adding a semicolon and entering your set statements after the action you take to save the data (patch, SubmitForm, etc.).

    Hi, thank you very much for your prompt response, however, After I select the bottom to patch the record still the same number, so it seems like I need to close the app an open in order to read the latest number in my SPL.

    You can call the refresh() action against your data source first and then then set your variables.

    Hi @sajarac ,

    Please find answers for both of your questions:
    1. Refresh is to refresh the data source you want to it could be a SharePoint List or a SQL table.

    Note: Use this, only when you don't see the new values as part your data source because too many refresh will pull down the performance.
    2. Yes for adding a new formula all you need to do is seperate/end the previous formula with ";"

    I hope this resolved your issue if you see any challenge/need further help please let me know I am always happy to do it for my community.

    Regards,
    Krishna
