Combo box option displaying as table rather than text

Hi

I am trying to get my app to trigger an approval flow when a button is clicked. Where the approval gets sent depends on which option is selected in a combo box. However when trying to send this info to power automate i am getting an error saying it needs to be a text value rather than a table.

This is the code that i am using when the button is clicked.

However I keep getting this error message

I have tried doing this with a drop down rather than a combo box but still get the same issue.

Is there a way to convert the result of the combo box/drop down to text so that i can use it in power automate?

Many thanks,

George

If you are selecting only one option then write:

    ComboBox1.Selected.Value

Concat the itens that you selected in the combobox.

    Concat(ComboBox1.SelectedItems.FieldYouWant;FieldYouWant;";")

Write the field you want where I wrote "FieldYouWant"

    Hi,

If the data you use for Combobox is from a column of a table, you should replace "Value" with the column name.

If you only allow 1, you should use this:

    ComboBox1.Selected.FieldYouWant.Value

    or

    ComboBox1.Selected.Value

    Hi @Anonymous ,

According to that you mentioned you have tried to use a Dropdown control to replace the combo box, I guess you will need only one selected item to pass to the flow. In this case the decisive factor of what to output is based on the Items property of this Combo box. If it is a table with multiple columns, ComboBox1.Selected.ColumnName would be the proper formula, but if you have other functions for the Items property, the formula would change. For example, using Choices() for the Person or Group column of SharePoint list or Dataverse, it could be ComboBox1.Selected.Email, but Choices column of SharePoint list or Dataverse it would be ComboBox1.Selected.Value. If using Distinct, the formula will change again to ComboBox1.Selected.Result.

So the point is, you need to know the Items/Data table structure from within Items of the Combo box, then you could decide which column to use and write the proper formula for the Combo box selected item.

    Hope this helps.
