Creating a running total in SP List

Hello,

Bit of an Automator/Sharepoint novice - just can't figure this one out.

I'm building an accounts recording app in Power Apps, and a Sharepoint List sits behind it. I'm looking to produce running total columns to calculate the expected held amounts in cash, the bank and in cheques.

I have columns for:

Cash (Received in)

Bank (Received in)

Cheques (Received in)

Cash (Spent)

Bank (Spent)

Cash Opening Balance

Bank Opening Balance

Cheques Opening Balance

Essentially, I want to be able to have a 'Cash Held' column with a running total:

For Cash Held

=[Cash Opening Balance]+sum([Cash Received In])-sum([Cash Spent])

Ditto for bank held amounts.

Any help is much appreciated!

Although probably not impossible, I'm not sure if this is the best approach to the problem.

What happens if two items get added to your list and while your flow is processing one it is also processing the other one. You might get some unexpected results if you have a flow run on the creation/modification of items.

You schedule a flow on a regular basis to do the calculations of the running totals. That way you would avoid the mixups.

I understand - it could process at the end of each day on a schedule.

Don't suppose you'd know how I go about achieving that, please?

    Hi @ajsummers1986 ,

That should be to hard to put together. First a schedule trigger then get items. and then one by one update them the total isn't set already. so you could probably optimize that a bit, ignoring the already set items and get the latest updated item at the beginning of the flow.
