Possibility to save PowerApp Form input

Hello together,

I`m using a PowerApp to collect purchasing requests from my colleagues. They fill out the form and submit it to a SP list. That already works great.

But is there also a possibility for the users to save their input before they send it (e.g. to collect missing data, they`ve forgotten or to have a template with their standard data in)?

Thanks for support!

    Hi @IvenSch

    I am assuming you have a power automate flow that sends you an email for when users submit their purchase request. This is either triggered by when a new record is created, or by clicking a button in power apps. If the trigger is when a new record is created, you would need to change this to when a button is clicked in power apps.

    To save records that are incomplete, you could have two buttons (one to save and one to submit) or use an If statement to just use one button.

    To have a template like feature to auto populate some fields about the user, you can set the Default property of the Text input controls to: E.g. User().fullname

    You`re right. I actually use a Submit button to update the data in my SP list.

    What would be the code for save the data as a draft? I tried with

    SaveData(Form1; )

    but it asks for a name where to save it.

    Your save button would need to have some logic in it. This logic would be like:

    If(Form1.DisplayMode = DisplayMode.New,
     SubmitForm(Form1),
     Patch('Data Source', Gallery1.Selected, {Column1: DataCardValue1.Text})
    )

    Your submit button would have:

    SubmitForm(Form1);
    'Flow Name'.Run();

    Your flow would be an Instant flow instead of an Automated flow.
