Deploy Offline Canvas App to Production with Custom Profile

Hi all,

I need help in understanding how to move managed solution to production. I developed Offline canvas app with custom profile. There are 10 tables associated with the custom profile.

While deploying solution to prod environment i am getting error: "Import failed due to missing dependencies" and missing object is 'Mobile Offline Profile'.

How to move or export/import custom mobile offline profile from dev to prod and import the solution? Thanks in advance.

    Hi @SAGOS_121

Can you verify that the Profile is part of the Solution itself?

    Is it published?

Did you go into the App Designer and set the Enable Mobile Profiles to on and select the one you wanted associated?

or in the Maker portal associate them with the entities?

If you like my answer, I would really appreciate if you please Mark it as Resolved, and give it a thumbs up, so it can help others

    Cheers

    Thank You

    Hi @FLMike ,

Thank you for the response. I think profile is not part of the solution. I don't see it anywhere.

Also, selected custom profile in the canvas app.

The Mobile offline profile is published. But, i  don't see anywhere the option to download and move it manually to prod environment and then import the solution.

Do you have any documentation on how to move Offline enabled Canvas app with custom profile to another environment ? i don't find any. Appreciate your help.

I'm also looking for a solution (no pun intended) for this. I see no way to transfer the mobile profile to another environment.

I created a brand new profile with an identical name and then deployed the solution between environments; it seemed to recognize the existing profile and continued. But this only worked once for me. Even if it did work again, it's not a great long-term solution.

For now, I had to turn off the offline support so I could get the app published.

I ran into the same issue and was able to find a solution in the documentation here:
Set up mobile offline for canvas apps (preview) - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

    The key section was this:

Export a solution that contains a canvas app enabled for offline

When you export a solution with an offline canvas app, you also need export the offline profile for the app, as it is a dependency of the app.

    1. Sign in to Power Apps and in the left navigation pane, select Solutions.
    2. Select the solution that you want to export and then select Edit.
    3. Select the canvas app that is enabled for offline and then select Advanced > Add required objects.

Make sure that the associated offline profile is in the solution and then you can export it.

Once I followed those instructions I was able to import with no missing dependencies.
    Hope that helps!

Yeah, it worked out for me. I just wanted to add that you SHOULD NOT create an offline profile with the same name on the target environment.

    Thank you for your help
