Error on Condition not firing

Morning

I have a drop down field on my form called 'Dynamic email test' with 'Group 1', 'Group 2' etc. I want to send an approval to group email if Group 1 is selected. This is how I've got the Flow set up:

DynamicContent.png

and I'm getting the following error when I test it: Unable to process template language expressions for action 'Condition_3' at line '1' and column '19992': 'The template language function 'contains' expects its first argument 'collection' to be a dictionary (object), an array or a string. The provided value is of type 'Null'.'.

Do I need a Compose action to format the output from the drop down? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Yes add a Compose action right before your condition. And put the value that you are using in the condition in the Compose. This will make it easier to troubleshoot, since you will be able to see the value that is being passed into the condition.

The error you are getting is saying the value is empty (Null)

Thanks @Jcook I found that the output value weirdly was 414420000 I put that in the condition and it worked fine. I'm now trying to find a way that I can use a group email address in the 'Assigned To' field in an Approval action. Any ideas?

Unfortunately using a Shared mailbox is not supported in Approvals at this time.

What you could do is have a Office365 group (AAD group) and use an append to string variable to add all email addresses into that string variable separated by a semi colon. Similar to this post:

    Thanks @Jcook

Yes that post is great. I followed it and got:

The 'inputs.parameters' of workflow operation 'Start_and_wait_for_an_approval' of type 'OpenApiConnectionWebhook' is not valid. Error details: Input parameter 'WebhookApprovalCreationInput/assignedTo' is required to be of type 'String/email'. The runtime value '"a.jones@ies.co.ukD.d@icots.co.uk"' to be converted doesn't have the expected format 'string/email'.

Where could I put the semi colon to separate the emails?

    Hi @darrenfloyd666

You need to add a ; to the end of your append to string variable

    Hello @darrenfloyd666

Was just checking in to see if you got your flow working?
