First & Sort not pulling highest value?

Hi, I have a table of data contained in an excel datasource. I have a label with the text value set to:

 

First(Sort(SubList,Index,Descending)).Index

 

There are some numbers such as 11, 12, and 13 in the Index column of this SubList but the formula above is pulling 9 as the value? Shouldn't it be pulling 13 since that is the highest number?

    I suspect the column is being sorted as a string not a number.  Sorting as a string will make anything that starts with a '1' lower than something that starts with a '9'.  Check the data type on the column I suspect it is set to General not Number.
