Multiple Sharepoint List from 1 App

I am not a very prolific user of Power Apps - so please forgive my ignorance.

Here is my requirement -

  • I have 2 Sharepoint List
  • List 1 contains the information like - Opportunity Name, Person Responsible, Opportunity ID etc...
  • List 2 containts - Opportunity ID, Update on the opportunity, date updated on etc...

The intent is List 1 will be updated whenver there is an opportunity. For an opportunity when there are updates, those need to be tracked in list 2.

How can I achieve this functionality.

If I create an App using List 1 - then I can manage the insertion/deletion/edit of the Opportunity information. How can I create ability in power app for a user to navigate from a record in List 1 and add updates into List 2?

thanks

PM

    Hi @PM,

    The below is my thoughts:

    1. Connect to List 1 directly from PowerApps, which will then generate 3 screen for Gallery list, Details screen and the Edit Screen.

Which would allows to view, new or update records in List1.

    2. Under the EditForm OnSuccess property, enter the following code:

    Patch(List2, defaults(List2), {OpportunityID:EditForm.LastSubmit.OpportunityID, Date:Today(), Updates:EditForm.LastSubmit})

The update field would keep all the changes within the whole record, so changes should be recorded.

The formula above would work every time when the EditForm submits data to List 1, including new and update, and every time it runs successfully, there would be a new record created under List 2.

Let me know if that would meet your requirements.

    Regards,

    Michael
