Set dropdown default to arbitrary column property of another dropdown's "selected"?

Hello!  So say I have the following tables/columns:

'Team.Team Id'

'Team.Name'

'Team Member.Team Id'

I have a primary "team" dropdown that I've set to show the team name.  Then I have a connected "team member" form, and I want it to have a dropdown that defaults to the 'Team Id' column (property) of the "team" dropdown's selected.

I've tried as the default of my "team member" dropdown:

Team_DropDown.Selected.'Team Id'.Value ("Invalid use of '.'.")

Team_DropDown.Selected.'Team Id' ("Expected Record value.")

Value(Team_DropDown.Selected.'Team Id') ("Expected Record value.")

Any ideas?

(As an aside, is there a way for me to inspect an entity like Team_DropDown.Selected.'Team Id' to find its data type, members/properties etc. like I can in a web browser developer console??)

    Hi @beejo ,

    Can you please try:

    LookUp(Team,'Team Id' = Team_DropDown.Selected.'Team Id')

    Try with:

    Team_DropDown.Selected

Can you give me some photos so I can check the problem?

That works, with the minor correction to 'Teams'.  Thank you.

The only thing that bothers me is that it causes yet another set of round-trip requests to the server, when I already have all the information I need locally.

For all the talk of Power Apps being lightweight and responsive and so on, they don't seem to give you the simple tools to really streamline your process 😞
