I'm planning to import a solution which contains a few apps/flows connected to an on-premise SQL db. There is a different db for the dev environment and a different one for production which is also on a different server.
For the PowerApps part I think it's pretty straightforward as I get asked to select the connection to be used for the connection reference during import but what about flows? Many of them are child flows so "Run only users" needs to be set to use a specific connection, do I have to go through all of the flows and manually swap the connection? Also would that even work in a managed solution or does changing the connection create an unmanaged layer?
If you talk about the top part shown on the following image then yes it's updated with the new connection but the bottom part is automatically switched back to "Provided by run-only user" which doesn't work for child flows.
Hi @MooFeR,
If you change the connection from the connection reference the flows that were using this connection reference will be updated with this new connection, and it won't create additional layers. I highly recommend running some tests, because if you are calling the flows inside your application you will need to refresh them inside it and publish the app again (Generating a layer in a managed solution) to the connection be updated and also turn off and turn on the flows to insure the changes were applied.
