HTTP Post adding backslashes

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this one. When I'm using the HTTP connector to POST a record and passing over a UUID/GUID as part of the payload the request fails. The error shows that the item passed includes a backslash before and after the first/last character of the string. Without passing the ContactID as a value the request works fine. If I copy the body out into postman then it works fine so I can only assume PA is doing something weird.

Any Ideas?
