I have a date picker on a screen. When my users enter a date older than 01/01/1970, e.g. 12/03/1965, the date picker auto-defaults it to 01/01/1970.
Any guidance appreciated.
Dates are stored as the number of ticks after 1/1/1970, so I don't think you can store an actual datetime value older than that. You would need to store it as a text value.

Do you want to choose year before 1970?The reason why you met this problem is that:Datepicker's start year is 1970 by default.
The startyear of Datepicker decide the earliest that you could choose in the datepicker.
In your issue, you just need to change your Datepicker's startyear to 1965.
If you want to display earlier year, you could also fill in 1900 or other years.

(I suggest you notice the startyear and endyear property)
