Merging rows in a collection

Hi All,

 

My goal is to merge rows within a collection/gallery.

I've been able to highlight the duplicates, and added a icon/button which would do the "merge".

 

If the week range and description (in the image attached the description is "project") are the same as each other, merge and total the number of hours (so 1.5 + 3 = 4.5).

The new merged record would show the week range, the description, and a new number of hours which is the total of the two merged records.

 

I need this to be dynamic so it can be used on different records. Any ideas on how to do this?

    Hi,

     

    UpdateContext({lvarHoursSum: Lookup(your_list, description=ThisItem.description && ID<>ThisItem.ID).hours+ThisItem.hours});
    Patch(your_list, Lookup(your_list, ID=ThisItem.ID),{ hours: lvarHoursSum});

    RemoveIf(Lookup(your_list, description=ThisItem.description && id<>ThisItem.ID))

     

    I think that would work for you, you may need to fix some spelling as I've typed it here and I heavily depend on PowerApps studio autocorrect 😄
