Hi folks,

I got a question regarding my code in my canvas gallery. I have a gallery that is linked with a table i created. This table is devided in different parts. I only one particular group to be shown in the gallery. I tried it with the filter function and it worked, but I also want to add a Search field, to give the user the possibility to search for different columns. But how can I insert both, the filter function and the search function, as I have to insert my code for the Search and Filter methode in "Items"? Can I merge them somehow?

Thanks

Hello there.  Unfortunately, you've asked your question in the wrong forum.   We come to this forum to  share our very best Canvas Apps Components with each other.

I'll ask to have this post moved to the help forums instead.

@Anonymous - yes, you absolutely can join these operations together by nesting them in a single statement.

So, you have a Search() function and you have a Filter() function. You already know exactly how each of them works:

    • Filter(<table>, <formula>)
    • Search(<table>,<searchstring>,<column>)

The only thing you need to do to combine them is use the output and feed it in as the table for the other. So either of the two below would do exactly what you want:

    • Filter(Search(<table>,<searchstring>,<column>), <formula>)
    • Search(Filter(<table>, <formula>), <searchstring>, <column>)

The important thing here is that the output of each is actually a table itself, and so can be used as the table input for the other, regardless of the order in which you place them.

    Enjoy!
