How to deploy a solution with PowerApps application and Postgres database connection reference?

Hi,

I have created a solution with PowerApps application with Postgres database connection and created connection reference and then deployed the solution to production environment. Solution was imported successfully with no issues but somehow application is not working as expected and and it is giving connection is missing error message.

As per below post, connection reference works only for SQL. Is that true? if yes, then how to deploy solutions with Postgres database. Please advise. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to add Postgres SQL Connection.

It is available in the list of connectors.

I have already added PostGres connection and created application but when I deploy the solution in another environment the connection reference is not resolving the connections.

Again I had to open the app and remove the connections and re add the connections pointing to production data base. Which is not needed if you use connection reference for SQL but it is not working for Postgre.

With the connection reference, do you have the same connection for Power Platform sandbox and production or do you have different connections?

Can you check if you have included the connection reference in the solution. And when using the solution in production environment, the connection should come up. However, the connection should be same as the sandbox environment.

I have created connection reference and then deployed the solution to prod environment. While importing the solution into prod environment , I got an option to create new connection and I created new connection with prod database details and then mapped to connection reference.
Once I am done with the above steps, PowerApps application should resolve the connections and app should work with no connection errors. But it is not working as expected and connections were not resolved and giving errors.

It could be that your solution uses multiple connectors and when importing, only one of the connectors is working and the other is causing the issue.

I suggest you check that too.

Can you verify that the new connector is valid and when you import the app and run it, if it is the new connector thats giving an error.

There is only one connection reference in solution and there are no duplicate connections in solution.

I hope you understand the purpose of connection references and how to use them in solutions.

In both environments, are database connections pointing to same server/database? or are they pointing to different databases?

In my case, they are pointing to the same database server.

I couldn't find other public PostgreSQL Servers that I could connect to. Hence used the same server.
