Need Help Updating SharePoint Person Column with Multi-Select ComboBox

Hello,

I'm working on a form with a multi-select email ComboBox. My goal is to update a SharePoint Person column with the selected email addresses when the user submits the form.

Here's what I have so far:

  • ComboBox setup: The ComboBox's Items property is set to Office365.ListGroupMembers(), which successfully populate a table with email column .

  • The Challenge: I believe the issue lies within the DefaultSelectedItems property. I'm unsure how to correctly capture the selected emails and pass them to SharePoint for the update.

    Hi @husham86,

    For DefaultSelectedItems property, you need to use Office365Users.SearchUser() to search based on the displayName returned from the Office365.ListGroupMembers():

    ForAll(ThisItem.PersonColumn,Filter(Office365.ListGroupMembers(),displayName=DisplayName))

    Thank you for the response. To clarify, I'm aiming to add multiple names selected from a ComboBox directly to a SharePoint Person column through Form submission. The SharePoint list doesn't currently contain these names. I attempted to use the ForAll function within the ComboBox's Items property, but this caused my employee list to disappear lol. I suspect there's an error in my approach and would greatly appreciate any guidance.

    Hi @husham86,

    Don't you want to update the saved users from a Person column in your list after you submit form?

    Could you please share a bit more about your need?

    If you just want to save the selected users from combobox to Person column, you need to set the Update property as below:

    Table(
     {Claims: "c:0o.c|membership|" & groupid
     DisplayName: groudisplayName;
     Email: groupemail;
     Department: "";
     JobTitle: "";
     Picture: ""
     }
     )

    You could get groupid by using Office365Group connector.

    Try this formula:

    LookUp(Office365Groups.ListOwnedGroupsV2().value, displayName = groupdisplayname).id
    //please replace groupdisplayname with the name that you want

    Note that it is a different data format once you populate the combobox with Office365.ListGroupMembers().

    Hello! Sorry for the delay. I was able to resolve the issue by making the following changes:

    • Items Property: Set to office365groups.ListGroupmemebers().
    • Update Property: Modified to the following:
    • ForAll(   Combobox.SelectedItems As aSel,   {'@odata.type':"#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedUser",

                 Claims: "i:0#.f|membership|" & aSel.mail,

                 DisplayName: aSel.displayName,

                 Email: aSel.mail,

                 JobTitle: "",

                 Picture: ""

                  }

    )

    • DefaultSelectedItems: Set to ThisItem.SharepointColumn.
