I have created an app that read and writes back to a SharePoint list but I need to give my users edit permission to the data however I don't think this is right because they can simply edit on the SharePoint list instead of using the app which has some restrictions on editing, if I give access to everyone to the data users can just edit data on SharePoint and it is not a good practice it could be dangerous. Any possible solution to this please help!!!!
Yes, it's necessary to share your SharePoint list data with your app users in order for them to be able to edit and use the app.
There are ways in which you can hide and make it more difficult for your end users to access the SharePoint list but ultimately, it's necessary to grant users access to the list. You might find the comments in this post useful.
