PowerApps Form translation for SQL Server Table Data source column data type

Hi,

Is there a link somewhere where I can find how PowerApps Form translates the data types of a column from a SQL Server table based on the column data type? I watched so many tutorials on YT and when they add a data source to a Gallery in New or Edit mode, some of the fields are automatically populated as a drop-down or a calendar picker.  I tried looking through MS Docs and come up empty-handed. Not quite sure the term I need to search for to describe this behaviour.

Thanks!!

Hello, @CoolPanda, The closest I got to getting you an answer is that Power Apps offers a predefined set of cards for strings, numbers, and other data types, and you can change the card used for a field. The data sources connectors (e.g. SQL, Dataverse, SharePoint) you use can retrieve the Data types of your data source tables, and based on the retrieved information, PowerApps populate the recommended fields.

For more information, check this out: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/working-with-cards#predefined-cards

    Regards,
    Ahmed

    Ahmed,

Thanks for the response. It is not quite what I need but most appreciated.

Most of the examples I've seen are for SharePoint List for the data source (DS) which makes it easier for PowerApps to translate the data types. I ended up having to manually add the input drop-down boxes and create new SQL DS for each drop-down I need to create.
