DO NOT allow users to add Columns or Rows

Good morning everybody,

I am trying to make my SP list so that users can only edit the rows that are there through my user form.  I would like to make it so that they cannot add any new items at all, which include the new item button at the top of the list, and the add new + button for columns and rows.  My form also loads but does not load into an edit mode which makes it confusing for the user.  I also need to make it so that the user form loads into an edit mode.

This list I have is a list of instructions for an engineering department.  This list is tracking the review dates and managers reviewing, so I need it easy for them to use or they will just give up.  They are also not very tech savvy so locking it down is necessary because if I do not, they will start creating a bunch of new list items that I do not want, like new columns and rows! lol.

Respectfully,

Jesse Allaway

    If you use SharePoint to create an app rather than just a form integration, you can better control the mode of the form.  The options at the top of the page will not be present and can be controlled with buttons from inside the app.  You can also better control who can add new records or edit existing ones.

    I created the list from the SP page.  The user form I am talking about, is the one that pulls up from when you click on the row title.  When they click on the list and go in, I just want the managers to be able to click on only the title, then the user form comes up in edit mode, that way they can add in the data I need from them and nothing else.

    Do you have a list of manager's emails?

    The emails are not in the SharePoint list, but I do have all of the emails for them, yes.

    You will need to have some way to filter the app for the manager. Assuming you can filter it against the list of managers, I would set up two screens, one with a View form and the other with an Edit form.  On the edit form you can set all the cards to View except the fields that you want the Manager to be able to edit.

    On a welcome screen you can put a single button with the OnSelect property

     If(
     IsBlank(
     Lookup(managerlist, email=User().Email, Navigate(screen1),
     Navigate(screen2)
    )

    Awesome!  I can see how this will work, now.  Thank you!
