Security Role to View PowerBI Report Component in Main Form

I have successfully embedded a PowerBI report into the main form of an application, using contextual filtering, that displays correctly at runtime to users with the System Administrator and System Customizer roles. However, non-admin user roles are not able to see the report when they are using the application, and just see a blank white screen. I have tried the following:

Assigned users a View role to both the dataset  in the PBI workspace created when the dataset and report were added to the solution

Assigned users the PowerBI Workspace Viewer and PowerBI Embedded App Access security roles

Ensured that the user role includes access to the PowerBI Dataset and PowerBI report custom entities

Confirmed there is no RLS of any kind in the dataset out of BI

Shared the report with a user with a link directly to the report in the workspace. The user can see all data in the report, but still cannot see the report inside of the application itself.

This seems like an obvious type of solution since when a user is given an admin security role it allows them to see the PBI report embedded, but I don't know which permission a user needs to see it! Any ideas would be deeply appreciated.

    Hi there,

I am facing the same issue. Were you able to find a solution please?

    Thank you very much!

No luck I'm afraid. It's curious that such a powerful preview feature would not be getting more direct support. I am just waiting on this for now as I don't want to use the old XML hard coded way if there is going to be some progress in the next months, but it's worth keeping an eye on.

I'm still experiencing the same problem. When I give the users a sys admin role, they can see the dashboard. as soon as I remove it they get a blank screen.

    Is there already a solution?

Look in Power Platform Admin Center, select the environment, and then go to Dynamics 365-apps.

Check if the Power BI Extensions (Preview) has the most recent version, if not update it.

For me it had not been updated for 5 months, so I immediately turned on auto update for the environment.

Does anyone have an answer to this yet?  I'm hitting exactly the same issue 😞
