Copy-Paste to PowerPoint adds "Item 1", "Item 2"... before each line

Hello everyone,

I have a gallery with a single HTML text component, and let's say 50 rows (so each row will have its own HTML text component, it's not a single HTML component displaying the whole thing).

I select all the rows in the gallery and paste it into PowerPoint and here's what happened:

I need guidance on this to understand is there a workaround or is this a bug.

Pasting into Word, Notepad++, clipboard history, they all show the data without the "Item 1,2,3,4".

If I could have a button that copies the text into the clipboard, that would be great, but I see that it's still under review.

    Any news on this?

I also posted on Microsoft Answers and they bounced me back here  and on Q&A, where I also asked the same question.

    Hi @vladimir84,

Have you tried pasting as Text Only (not formatted)?

From a PowerApps perspective I don't think we have many alternatives here.

With the contents being correctly displayed by other Text Editors but not PowerPoint specifically it means the HTML based list is not interpreted in the same way.

I believe you can present both examples in the thread you already have with them stating you have different results for the same content between Word and PowerPoint disregarding the actual origin of the content.

    Hope this helps,

    Filipe Relvas

Hi @FilipeRelvas  and thank you for your feedback.

I tried paste as text and it still gives me the same result. However, if you can test this on your end, to see if it occurs to you too, that would be most helpful. You don't need other than the sample text of the HTML component in a sample gallery.

I tend to believe that it's a PowerPoint problem, for the mere fact that it does not occur in other programs. However, the staff of the other Microsoft forums are not really interested in anything other than forwarding me to this forum, as you can see below.

So essentially there is a relatively small issue that nobody on their end wants to deal with.

    Hi @vladimir84,

I tested this behavior and I got mixed results. On Notepad++ and Notepad as you said I don't get the Item Count, but I do have a similar behavior using Word:

    Word:

    Excel:

I'm assuming that this also depends on the current configs (Padding, Font Size, Formatting...) you have on each but I tried with Text Only (No formatting) and the Item Count disappears on both.

    Best regards,

    Filipe Relvas

    @FilipeRelvas

Thank you so much for the testing. I don't know what happened in the meantime, but Pasting -> Keep text only, now works just fine in PowerPoint, it doesn't display "items" anymore. All I did was reboot the computer between now and then, no changes on any settings.
