'The data did not load correctly' error when connecting to SQL Azure

Hi,

I'm having trouble connecting to an SQL Azure DB from Powerapps. When it gets to the 'Choose a dataset' screen, I get an error message reading 'The data did not load correctly. Please try again.' and it doesn't go any further.

I've configured the firewall and I'm able to connect up with SQL Server Management Studio. I created a new DB with a single non-empty table with a primary key and I still get the error.

I've seen other posts reference a connection string but I'm just inputting the information in the text fields provided. Is there an alternate mode where I can try inputting a connection string or has that method been phased out?

Thanks,

Alan

I've doen some testing with Fiddler and I'm seeing an error with an 'invalid grant' due to an 'expired refresh token'. I'm trying to authenticate with an SQL user that wasn't in existence when this token was provisioned though, so I'm not sure where to go from here.

    Alan,

The moved from the old connection string format with their latest update. Have you removed the connection completely from the Powerapps portal? I'm guessing you have, but I would try that if you haven't already.

Thanks for the post. I've completely removed the connection from the portal (it was only added two days ago which is weird) and re-added from both the portal and the client but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I tested this on another computer in the office and it was fine, so I re-installed it on mine and it is working now. Obviously something in the cache was causing issues with credentials. Hopefully this doesn't happen again in a couple of months.
