I am building an app for payroll changes for my employer, I have a gallery that is connected to a Sharepoint list detailing payroll changes. Each change has an effective date.
What I would like to do is have a drop-down list with my employer's pre-defined pay periods and filter the data in the gallery to show the payroll changes for the dates affected in that range.
For instance, our current pay period is 05/08-05/21. If there was an employee that had a payroll change effect on 05/10, I would want it to show if the user selected "05/08-05/21" in the dropdown.
I sort of understand filters and have been watching some of Shane Young's videos, as well as a filter by date range video from April Dunham. Something just isn't "clicking" with me.
I currently have a filter on my gallery, so I am not sure how to add another or if there is a better solution.
My current filter:
AddColumns(Filter('PAF SP Data Updated','Action Type' = "Hire" Or 'Action Type' = "Rehire"),
"HireDate2",
Date(Year(Now()), Month('Effective Date'), Day('Effective Date')),
"DOB2",
Date(Year(Now()), Month('Date of Birth'), Day('Date of Birth')))
Any suggestions? Thanks!
