Having issue with Mutiple "Appy To" for Choice Columns in SharePoint form

I'm trying to figure out where the form builder used Mutliple Choice Fields in a form, how to get the  "Choices" to be added to an excel file.

the "Apply To" end up being at least 2... and I tried with initializing variables. setting up a VarChoice1 and VarChoice2... still throws this error:

I have the variables as arrays? do I need to do them as Strings?

Tried both same error

here is the Apply To append to array variable:

Let me know if there is anything else that is needed to debug the issue

    Hi @SPS-DEV-22 ,

Do you want to copy data from SharePoint list to excel including a multiple Choices column?

Based on your description, I have made a simple test for your reference.

    SharePoint list for test:

    Here is the flow:

I suggest you use “Append to string variable” action, which is easier than “Append to array variable”.

    Result:

    Best regards,

Yes, this is close to what I'm trying to do. Except the first two steps are different, and I have 1 more multiple choice column of data to capture.

I need to do this on when things get entered and edited.

    Questions:

    1) the Orange Box area below:
when I'm working with that Variable String:
I would type the items('Apply_to_each')?['Column Name'] is that correct to assume? --- SOLVED

I cannot get past this step, keeps throwing errors:

    SPSDEV22_0-1670952010726.png

And no matter what I choose I get this error:

    SPSDEV22_1-1670953951812.png

How would I add 1 more "Apply To" for the next column?

    Hi @SPS-DEV-22 ,

Yes, expression in "Apply to each 2" should be items('Apply_to_each')?['Column Name'] , or you can use the parameter "testChoice" in Dynamic content, as shown in picture, which has same effect.

I'm not using the column testChoice and when I use the ColumnName  Value it creates a new "Apply To".

this is what happens when I select the ColumnName Value:  it throws in a a new Apply To 3 and changes the select output to current item and then the Append to string is inserted there:

    SPSDEV22_0-1671028473934.png

this is different than your example with this happening, any way to actually use the "Apply to" with Multiple Selection Choice Dropdowns?

When I select the column Name with out the  "Value" just this :
ColumnName from the dynamic selections and use it in the flow I get
The execution of template action 'Apply_to_each_2' failed: the result of the evaluation of 'foreach' expression '@items('Apply_to_each')?['Column Name'] ' is of type 'Null'. The result must be a valid array.

when I do the other suggestion:

    SPSDEV22_1-1671033186021.png

I get data entered but it is incorrect:

12312341231234132 and I get everything in the columns as

the last item 132 is what I entered,  it picks up all the other entries. I only want the new data.

    sometimes it grabs all the prior data and places it in 1 column.  starting with {"@odata.etag"........}

I just need the new item entered, not the entire list.

    Hi @SPS-DEV-22 ,

If the trigger you use is "When an item is created" then you don't need to loop through all items in the list, as shown in the following picture.

    I solved the below issue.

I had to build individual flows

    create

    modify

    delete

the flows gave me issues like below when the flow create and modified were combined.

    ****************************************************************************************************************

When I do the current flow above: I get duplicate entries of items that are already in the spreadsheet.

this happens when it gets modified.

    SPSDEV22_0-1671118089458.png

how do I prevent the new entry upon modification?

    SPSDEV22_2-1671118376572.png

which step would be causing the new entry upon modified?
