create event using list item due date

Hi, new to flows and struggling to achieve what i want. A lot of it is probably not understanding the format.

I am trying to create a flow that when a new SP list item is created that it creates an event in my O365 calendar, using the due date from the item.

When creating it the end time is before the start time which I find odd, but I am entering dynamic data from the item called due date. Ive tried adding times to this but possibly using the wrong syntax.

The best I can do at the moment is get it to create an event of a half hour time slot starting at the nearest 30 minutes after the item is created. e.g. I may create a new item at 7:40 on the 16th, but the due date is the 17th. This creates a 30 minute event on the 16th from 8:00.

What I want to achieve is allocate a 1 hour time slot on the actual due date at 9AM, I don't require any further flexibility than that.

Any help appreciated.

Could you please explain a bit regarding the "Due Date" mentioned here?

Is this a date value from the newly created SharePoint list?

Would you please share a screenshot of the run details (Also the configure part) for this flow?

If yes, then we may need to take use of compose Action.

Basically The End Time or Start would accept the time format showing in the image below, as that is similar to hard-coded time, which can't be so helpful.

Hi,

I'm still a little lost. I can get it to create an event at 8AM for an hour simply by putting in the start and end time. I'm trying to set the date using a field in the SP item where I select the date from a calendar which I have called "Due Date". I hadn't previously noticed but further down the config there is a field for start and end dates. When I try to use dynamic data here the flow does not run at all.
Annoyingly I can't seem to paste screenshots in here to better explain. I'll try another browser in a minute in case that is the issue.
So putting it as simply as I can the SP item has a date field which I select when creating the item, this is named "due date" and is available in the list of dynamic data displayed when creating the flow. I've tried adding it to the start and end times which creates an event but at the wrong time and date and I've tried adding it to the start and end date which stops the flow working completely.

Do you get any error messages?
How much is the time and date wrong? Always the same amount?

This is what I get with just the time in the start and end time and "due date" in the start and end date. Nothing happens at all with this set up. If I remove "due date" from the config the event is created on todays date. I'm guessing that the "due date" field isn't producing any output from the look of it, but I can't think why.

You get an error because it's missing something.
Try to output the due date field to an email body to see what it actually outputs. The due date is a date&time field?

It's just a date only. I'm sorry but I am not very clever - how do I test the output? On the SP list view it outputs it as 17/02/2017, so the data is there in sharepoint. Is it possibly a date format error as from the other replies I can see the date in the format 2017/2/17?

Just retry it once again and expand the "trigger"-action. There you can see what MSFlow actually gets from SharePoint.

Well that would explain a lot of things! There is no output for the "due date" or a couple of other fields I wanted. What puzzles me is if there is no output from the trigger then how is the dynamic data listing it as an option when creating the event?
My guess now is this is a Sharepoint issue rather than a flow issue and I should be looking for answers in a different forum?

Keep this issue in mind: Flows can't write to Lookup, Choice, People and Groups, and Taxonomy fields in SharePoint lists. We recommend using a simple string field until this is corrected.

The dynamic data couldn't know at the creation of the flow which fields output some value.
Which type of fields don't output data?
Do you use a "my-site" or standard sharepoint site? Is it a "normal" custom-List?

Currently I'm having massive problems with flow&sharepoint-lists.. so it might be you have the same issue or souce of issue.

It's a standard domain.sharepoint.com based on the default tasks list and just modified to my needs.
I'm not seeing the due date, the title (the title is created using a workflow from a dropdown so the output should be simple text) and the description which is a multi-line text box.
I have problems today with powerapps failing to lookup dropdowns, so maybe there are a few issues.
