Readonly offline datasource, with possibility to update?

Case:

I want to create a Powerapp that relies on a locally stored database (because the app needs to work without internet connection), but at the same time the database will have centrally stored master data. And "database" here probably refers to an Excel document or a Sharepoint list.

Once the data is on the client device everything works just fine, I guess. But what's a good Powerapps approach towards pushing new versions of the database to client? For my scenario, anything from pushed updates to manual polling from the client  to scheduled updates is okay, as long as there is a way to send new data / retrieve new data for the clients.

    Hi Estomagordo,

Are you using this connection as your data source?

As currently, Excel Static connection is read only. We are not able to write new data to it.
Please see this thread for a reference:

My first instinct was to do just that and use a static data source.

Does a data servuce support my scenario? That is, can I access a locally cached version of a centralized data service, when I have no collection?
