Sharepoint Lists columns

Good day to you All,

My question mainly focuses on SharePoint lists. I have a list on sharepoint that contain 10 columns  ( 5 for all users to view and 5 columns are only visible to managers).  The user , inorder to raise an issue , they should fill in the 5 columns, then submit further.

Then it goes to powerautomate flow approval stage and so.  During the approval Stage, Columns specified for managers will collect data (such as approval date , who approved and so on).

In Ideal world, I want to have 1 sheet that contain all these 10 columns and once issue submitted, the user will not be able to see the 5 columns for managers.

I dont know if in Sharepoint I can do this or not ? any Ideas and if yes, how to do it?

I was thinking to create 2 lists sheets , first sheet will contain 5 columns for uses with premission for everyone , and second sheet will contain 5 columns for managers with permission only for managers.  The I want to show the columns for managers in Sheet 1 , so I can have 1 sharepoint list with 10 columns.

Do you think this is a solution ?

Thanks for reading , sorry if it is too long. I appreciate your input.

Thanks and lets share the knowledge between all of us.

    Hi @Willing1,

Would hiding the columns be sufficient or do you need column level security?

In case of the first you could use show/hide conditional formulas for the 5 manager fields on the new item form of your list:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/declarative-customization/list-form-conditional-show-hide#specify-conditional-formula-to-show-or-hide-columns

Alternatively, you could also use Power Apps for this 🙂
