Is it possible to have a custom date filter that the user defines say for a chart that's part of a subgrid on a form?

At the moment I can manually set predefined dates using a Filter By, with the most dynamic being yesterday or today that then shows up under the system view for a subgrid chart, unless I've missed something, it doesn't appear the be an option inside a view for custom parameters the user can use.

I know about the global filter that can be used with table dashboards, or creating a filter that is on or after, then on or before to set a time frame, but even for dedicated solution dashboards, I haven't been able to figure out custom dates only predefining the view or filter.

I want to be able to bring up a calendar ideally with any chart or dashboard, that the user can set custom time frames, or just select a day.

Is there another way?
