Changes to External Identity Provider in the backend causes site to self-delete

Hello,

We were working on a Power Pages Site, and ran into this issue. We found out that the scopes for the External Identity Provider had been duplicated in the backend of the site, instead of having been overwritten. We decided to delete these duplicates. That, we shouldn't have done- as the entire site just disappeared. Everything on it, even the main link, is simply gone. We did try to resrore latest version without any luck, so does this mean we have to make it again? This is not feasible if everytime we make changes in backend causes the site to delete itself. Is this expected behaviour? Hope someone has an explanation to this.

Best regards, Cecilie

No, this is not expected behavior. While misconfigurations in authentication settings can break access, they should not result in the deletion of an entire site.

Would you have a backup of your website data? If not, you might need to reach out to Microsoft via support ticket so they can look at this
