Patching a label to a SP list

Hi, I am new to powerapps and am trying to learn how to use the patch function.

I have a SP list with a single line of text field type that I am trying to save the label to. The label is filled automatically based on the selected value in a dropdown list using the following:

If(TeamDD.Selected.Result = "Tres",
"Name 1")

I have tried to patch this by using:

Patch(tresresources,
Defaults(tresresources),
{Director: DirectorDD.Text,})

but I am getting an error 'does not match the expected type 'record', found type 'text'

Any help is much appreciated!

Other than the last coma after Text. Everything looks fine. Can you share screenshot of your sharepoint list.

Hi, Sorry the comma is there because I have other patched columns underneath, but it still does not work on its own without the comma
This is the list I am trying to save to with all single line of text field types
And this is the SP list for the dropdown values in which the director is dependent on

Rookie Error, I had some columns as choice columns but have changed them to single line of text and forgot to update my datasource
