Help! Both flows going into the loop

Hi all,

I would really appreciate your help.

I've defined two flows in my Helpdesk Ticketing SharePoint page:

  1. A flow to send an email to the ticket originator when the ticket's status column is changed to 'Completed'.
  2. A flow to auto-populate the date of completion column when the status is changed to 'Completed'.

Once I enable both flows, they go into a loop.

Can you please advise how I can fix this issue? Screenshots are below. Thanks a lot.

    @Jeff20241 ,

    The flow goes in an endless loop because your Update action (at the end) causes the flow to retrigger.

    What you need is a trigger condition and a column to capture status of flow. Please check this blog.

    @SudeepGhatakNZ Hi Sudeep, many thanks for your response. Just to clarify and provide you more info. The flows are only going into the loop with each other when they both are enabled. They are fine on their own independently. For example: On status change to completed, the user gets an email, then the date of completion comes in, then same email is generated again and it goes on forever until I disable one of the flows. I believe when the date flow kicks in, it re-enter the status as 'completed' which triggers the email flow. Hope it clarifies.

    Can you please retest? The second flow should not be causing the issue.

    The issue seems to be with the first flow that has the Update trigger and the update action.
