Automatic Reply when clicking link in body text

Hello all, I've written a basic power automate process so that when a form is completed with some user information to be passed to our IT department it sends required data to the team to update. Question I have is, in the email that goes to the IT Department can I put some text so when they have completed the task they can click on a link within the body text which then sends a message back to me plus close the email that had the link so they can see that the automated message has been sent due to the message being closed?

Hi @Andrew_M ,

I think instead of clicking on a link within the body text they can simply hit the Reply or Reply All button on the original email with a short note saying "Done"

This will do all that you need.
i. sends a message back to me
ii. plus close the email that had the link
iii. so they can see that the automated message has been sent due to the message being closed
- The message can be viewed in their Sent box.

I could do that but trying to eliminate as much human interaction as possible. Plus where's the challenge in that? 😉

Maybe you can think of creating Approval flows which will send out an email with a button inside it as "Complete" which also has a free text box to write some comments.

Instead of sending the email use the "create approval" or "start an approval" action. That email will have the button(s) you configure in this Approval action.

Hi VJR, chatting to a colleague at work, the simplest way to do it is to type some text into the body of the email you're going to send, then use a hyperlink with the mailto: functionality and you can then use ?Subject and &Body tags to produce the message.
